We believe rescue animals have a special kind of magic. They remind us that beautiful things can be reclaimed, restored, and given an entirely new story.
At Decor Direct, we’ve had the honor of rescuing three wonderful pups. First came Petey, our black-and-white Hound mix and original Chief Canine Officer, who served proudly until 2013.
Then came Lucky, our beloved Black Mouth Cur rescue, who joined the team later that year and went on to greet thousands of customers with joy, until Spring 2026.
Now, a new set of paws carries the story forward. Baru, our energetic young rescue Boxer mix from Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, is learning the ropes as our newest CCO in training.
Different dogs, different journeys, all woven into the heart of Decor Direct. 🐾

Lucky
Lucky's journey to us was anything but easy.
As a young pup, Lucky was hit by a car and ended up in a high-kill shelter in Orlando. But thanks to the incredible kindness of our friend and customer, Michelle Sampson Carlson, of Gimme Shelter Pets, he recovered. Lucky transformed from a sad and timid pup into the goofy, outgoing dog who greeted every visitor with joy and enthusiasm.

We adopted Petey from Humane Society of Sarasota County. He was CCO for over 13 years of fun and play before he retired in 2013, but he's still in our hearts and minds.
