DIRECT ANNOUNCES DONATION TO FRUITVILLE FRIENDS “CRACKER COW-TILLION”
SUMMARY:
Decor
Direct, Sarasota's Young Business of the Year, has announced its February
2004 charitable donation to the Friends of the Fruitville Library
“Cracker Cow-tillion” Annual Student Scholarship Fundraiser.
Sarasota,
Florida – Decor Direct, an
importer of handcrafted furniture and accessories headquartered in
Sarasota, Florida, is pleased to announce its charitable gift donated to
the Friends of the Fruitville Library in February 2004.
Decor
Direct donated a 40” tall handcarved wooden cowboy statue valued at $244
for the Fruitville Cracker Cow-tillian Fundraiser for the Friends of the
Fruitville Library. The event
was held on the evening of February 20 at the Florida Farm Bureau
pavilion.
The
evening’s events included a silent auction to bid on the donated items,
as well as a down-home barndance and barbeque.
“[Decor Direct’s] donation of the 40” carved cowboy for our
auction will allow us to continue our support of programs for children,
teens and families such as Storytime Station, Twilight Tales, the annual
Summer Reading Program, Gingerbread House workshop and Teen Mystery
Adventures, to name a few,” said Ruth Dickie, President of Friends of
the Fruitville Library.
In
addition to being a winner of the 2002 Young Business of the Year Award by
Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, Decor Direct has also received other
accolades, including the “Best of Show” award from the local American
Society of Interior Designers.
