DECOR DIRECT ANNOUNCES DONATION TO WUSF ONLINE
AUCTION
Sarasota,
Florida — Decor Direct, an importer of handcrafted furniture and
accessories headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, is pleased to announce its
charitable donation of an original oil painting to WUSF's online auction fundraiser.
Bids will be accepted at the online auction beginning on October 13,
2004
on the donated item, an original signed oil painting titled, "Toucans in Rain Forest."
This canvas painting depicts toucans in an exotic tropical setting. The vibrant detail is created with meticulous brushstrokes of the artist, and the
dramatic image is classically displayed in a gold leafed wood frame that's
over 4 feet tall. The retail value of the painting is $1491, but the
starting bid for the auction will begin at just $445, and all proceeds go
to WUSF. Bids can be placed for the painting online
24 hours a day at the WUSF web site.
WUSF 89.7 is the public radio station for west central
Florida. Each week 278,800 people listen to news from NPR and to unsurpassed classical music and jazz.
WUSF 89.7 is a valuable community resource that serves the public interest through programming, educational outreach and partnerships with individuals, foundations, corporations, community organizations and the University of South Florida to make programming and services available to all listeners.
Decor

fortunate to grow up in a household enriched with the classical music and
other programming of our local Tacoma, Washington National Public Radio
affiliate. Now, as an adult, it's wonderful to be able to give
something back to support the fine music, news, and community outreach
efforts of Sarasota's NPR and Public Broadcasting affiliates.”

addition to being active in supporting local charities, Decor Direct won the 2002 Young Business of the Year Award by
Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, and has also received other
accolades, including the “Best of Show” award from the local American
Society of Interior Designers.

DECOR DIRECT
Established
in 1998, Decor Direct is a unique
hybrid company, with offices in China, Thailand, and Sarasota, Florida.
In Sarasota, the company operates out of two facilities, one for
wholesale distribution. The warehouse clearance outlet, located on 17th
Street, is open to the wholesale trade Tuesday through Sunday, but also
opens directly to the public on weekends two to four times per month.
